An early 20th century taxidermy tiger head trophy, mounted on a wooden shield shaped mount, with engraved plaque 'A.C.N N. Balaghat. C.P March 1930', paper label verso inscribed 'Van Ingen & Van Ingen Mysore', 69cm high x 74cm wide.

Provenance: This tiger was shot by the vendor's late father in law, who was in the Indian Army, based in India in the early part of the 20th century. It is understood to be one of two, a "left & right", this exmaple is understood to be the male and the other, a female, was turned into a "rug" with the head still attached. (Provenance note added 1809 hours 2/9/26)
